REVIEW: YSL’s Touche Eclat Blur Perfector

WHAT IS IT?

A blur perfector compact that perfects the skin while retaining its luminous glow. Available in one universal shade, ideal for all skin tones and skin types.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

This portable perfector is YSL’s first ever blur perfector ($55)encased within a compact. It transforms from a balm to a powder upon application to soften the skin’s imperfections—creating a transparent yet subtle, rosy-glow effect. Use it alone as an all-over complexion perfector, to set makeup, or as a mattifying touch up to sweep away shine and hide imperfections. Featuring one universal shade that complements all skin types, it instantly minimizes the look of pores so that skin feels smoother and the complexion appears more even.

HOW TO USE IT:

Replacing foundation:
-Apply with soft sweeping motions from the center of the face outward using the included Yves Saint Laurent sponge applicator.
-If necessary, tap additional texture on visible pores or shiny areas (the T-zone and nose).

Retouching foundation:
-After completing the makeup routine, tap the texture (without sweeping) on visible pores or shiny areas.
-Retouch as needed throughout the day.

MY THOUGHTS:

I bought this at Sephora awhile ago since my skin does get oily throughout the day. I love to use it like a primer before I put on my foundation. This stuff really does erase pores. One swipe, and your skin is left super soft, and looking airbrushed. I prefer to use this as a mid day touch up, rather than a primer itself. It’s great to mattify your foundation during the summer, when it’s super hot and humid. AKA when you’re looking greasy AF. For me, there are more light weight primers, that help slow down oil production. I recommend tapping your face not pushing down and swiping the product around. (Your makeup will move if you do this). The only thing I don’t like is I apply it with the applicator which is like a felt sponge, so the sponge kinda got gross. Since the product itself is a bit waxy consistency dirt and lint got stuck to the sponge.
